Chinese-contemporary-art. Basically, works that I like and hope to introduce to others. It’s hard to explain why we like something we’re instinctively drawn to. Sometimes over analysis can destroy good judgment so here is my highly abridged guide to the world of abstract and contemporary art!

What does it remind me of? 

Profile: Where did the artist grow up, study and what influenced their style?  Do they have a local and/or international profile? Is there ground swell around their work? Have they exhibited overseas?

How much: How much is a work and how much was it 5 years ago, 10 years ago and 15 years ago etc?

Affect: What vibe does it give off, how do I react to it?

Wall-worthy: Would I happily walk past this everyday in my home or office? Taking into account quality of craftsmanship, affect, etc.
